Related Project Information

The deployment of open, interoperable systems for road transport and traffic safety, requires standardised systems. Only standardised systems provide openness for new applications and interoperability between all vehicles.

The main focus of COMeSafety is to support the eSafety Forum with respect to all issues related to vehicle-to vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communications as the basis for co-operative intelligent road transport systems. The SSA COMeSafety acts as a broker for the consolidation and following standardisation of research project results, work of the C2C-CC and the eSafety Forum. COMeSafety thereby fosters coordinated development work and the interoperability of technical components between eSafety related research projects, and channels those results together with appropriate recommendations to C2C-CC and eSafety Forum/Com group.

Several projects in the Strategic Objective “eSafety” and the 6th Framework Programme in general address issues related to the ones dealt with in the project COMeSafety.

Day-to-day collaboration with projects CVIS, SAFESPOT, COOPERS and eSafetySupport is conducted. Additionally, exchange of information has been done with other projects, among those CYBERCARS, GEONET, GST, PReVENT and SEVECOM.
